Redesigning the Hull Online brochure experience
Summary
Hull Online's course brochures were not well optimised for the intended user experience, so when some new courses and visual identity guidelines were introduced, I used this opportunity to refresh the format as well as the look and feel. Previously, they were A4 portrait format, which wasn't the best experience when viewing the PDF online in a web browser.
With this in mind, I changed the format to A5 landscape (to still allow for potentially being printed in the future) and refreshed the look and feel to reflect the updated Hull brand guidelines, which had also been updated since the previous brochures were designed.
Responsibilities - Update Course Brochure and Overview designs for all Hull Online courses.
Skills used - Layout design, branding concepts, typography, image cropping & web optimisation
Impact
The redesigned brochures were a hit with the Course Advisers and contributed to increased leads for the Hull Online courses.
Brochure filesize was also reduced, going from A4 to A5, making them much easier to attach to and be downloaded from CRM emails.
